Laurence Kwark, Secretary General of GSEF, recently contributed to La Tribune Fonda’s latest issue, giving her take on a few matters of concern to SSE and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She discussed contentious issues such as the way SSE can lead us to the achievement of the SDGs through inclusive policymaking, the reasons for the absence of SSE being clearly stated in the SDG objectives, how SSE can create collaborative synergies between organizations and governments at different levels, as well as the methods through which the true weight of SSE can be valued by measuring its true impact on the economy and the society in general.

This latest issue of La Tribune Fonda is on the topic of “Faire ensemble” (“making a difference together”) and assembles 15 distinguished contributions. Of note is Juan Antonio Pedreño, president of Social Economy Europe, who is calling for the European Commission to support SSE organizations on the way to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic. It also features François Hollande, former French president, whose appeal for associations to better cooperate is a reminder of the rich history of French solidarity. Lastly, Judith Roze, director of the French Institute’s department of French Language, Literature, and Knowledge, argues in favor of culture’s role in the achievement of the SDGs and the potential it holds in harnessing a proactive participatory citizenry.
