Summary

The progressive implementation of the Economy for the Common Good approach in Miranda de Azán is bringing about a change in the municipal political model and a social transformation at the community level. The main changes are observed in the application of transparency measures and social and environmental sustainability policies that foster the active participation of residents of the municipality starting with the development of values such as respect and equality, environment, social justice, transparency, democratic participation and solidarity. The Common Good Balance Sheet performed in February 2014, and every subsequent year serves as an audit to corroborate the progress made by the City Council. This will be completed by the development of a Common Good Index or Happiness Index, agreed upon by the residents of the area in order to create an identity feeling of a united community, with a high degree of wellbeing.
