GSEF participates in the UCLG World Council Executive Bureau meeting in Madrid from 5 – 8 Nov 2018 to advocate the role of social economy in urban policy making. Below is a brief summary of the event (from the UCLG website)

The World Council will take place from 5 to 8 November in Madrid, back-to-back with the second edition of the World Forum on Urban Violence and Education for Coexistence and Peace, at the kind invitation of Mayor Manuela Carmena.

PROGRAMME:

The key institutional day for UCLG will be 6 November, where both the Executive Bureau and World Council will gather around business sessions and a political debate.

  • Monday 5 November: Opening of the Forum, Financial Management Committee and Committee on Statutory Affairs, as well as thematic sessions.
  • Wednesday 7 November: Policy Councils and Ibero-American Local Forum

The World Council is the principal policy-making body of the World Organization. It decides the World Organization’s policies and ensures that general policies decided by the General Assembly are implemented.
