Summary

In the presentation, a conceptual reflection of SDGs and SSE is provided, exploring in detail the meaning and ways in which SSE can be incorporated in all kinds of levels in the society, including political and environmental levels. The presentation further discusses the notion of community forestry and the surrounding local communities and points out how the importance of ensuring that these communities are eco-friendly and are supportive of the notion of preserving the forestry environment. The presentation provides various cases in Malaysia and some of the strategies that local communities adopted to preserve their well-being and their ecosystem, such as the eco-tourism program.
